Does anyone know the requirements or qualifications process for becoming a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist in the UK (Britian)? Are there accrediting organizations that award licenses, like the American ASCP, AMT, or NCA? Thanks, -Tim

i'm not from uk, but interested in working over there. i will have an ASCP certification this august and looking. all that i've found is that medical technologists are called biomedical scientists in uk and there's a lot of hoops you have to through to become registered if you didn't go to school there. lemme know if anyone finds anything. |

they are called biomedical scientists in the UK. You must get accreditation with the HPC, the IBMS provide information about qualifications which you will need so best to go to their website. www.ibms.org |
