Why does it say that there is no experience required here, but on the website you need to have experience. Is there anon-compete contract? What are the terms? |
|
Maral in Watertown, South Dakota 10 months ago |
Hello, we do not have a no compete contract however, any agent that comes to our company, if they leave, our company retains the right to attempt to continue to serice any and all of their customers. We really wanted experianced agents but it seems that the experianced agents are not willing to follow our stick guidelines as well as commission cap. Unlike any other broker out there, Mte Logistics operates with a high standard of ethics. Some brokers out there are holding 25-40% profit margins and even higher when they can get away with it. That will not be tolerated in this company. And the very same brokers that are holding those super high margins are going to lose their customers anyway because we are going to take them, eventually. |

Well honestly look at what your asking. This business is all about your following. If they cant create a following for themselves there really is no point in working for you. A commission cap? now thats a little like saying "Keep working but I'm not going to pay you more". Just my opinion... Best of luck. |

As I have stated before, my advice, help, insight is completely free. I have been through it all and am just offering up some hard lessons experience in this very cut throat business during an exceptionally difficult economy. Knowledge is power, especially free knowledge!! All the skeptics can say whatever they want, I have developed a very thick skin over the years, but still have compassion for others underneath..what about you? |

I am an agent right now and have been for 4 years but it has been tough. I am right now looking to get out and I started with a network marketing company just launched in Tulsa. It is my hopes that this is my key to get out of the logistics market. But if you need any help or advice just let me know...

All the skeptics can say whatever they want, I have developed a very thick skin over the years, but still have compassion for others underneath..what about you? Hi Linda, It's great to see someone like you. It has been a hard, scary road trying to find information on this business. My girlfriend got me started on my search to become a freight broker agent. She was ripped off before I met her by one of these "schools" for $1,000. But she knows a little about the business and said brokers could make $100k a year working from home. Now I see the truth and I'm not discouraged but a little wiser. I have no experience but am a quick learner, honest, dependable and aggressive. I love tackling challenges if I have the right information. Can I speak with you to get a clearer picture of what to expect, what I should do and where/who I should go to? Thank you very much for your help and for just giving us hope in a business of seemingly endless scams, sharks and dream killers. All the best,

Thank you Ollie for the opportunity to for training and employment. I have emailed you my information via the email address you sent me. Just one thing; I have been hearing, on this forum and elsewhere, that freight brokering, like every other business these days, is in a slump. Brokers don't have a big enough margin to make a decent commission when and if they even find a load to ship. Is this really how it is? Are things that bad? If so, how can you train someone new like me and give me work or the opportunity to make money? Just wondering. I like to get the big picture so I know what I'm getting into. Thank you once again for your time and help,

There is plently of opportunity to make money in this business. But, no one gives it to you. You earn money based on your effort and success in presenting your product. Just like any sales job. It does come with a built in level of luxury. We are in a recession but goods still move by truck. Its up to you.

CREngland in Salt Lake City, Utah said: Afternoon everyone, I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that we are having a Summer Special on our Freight Brokerage School making this the best time to get into the Brokerage industry. We offer the most comprehensive course taught by transportation experts who have been in the business for over 80 years. Take a look at our website www.freightbrokerageschool.com to find out more about this opportunity and the potential job placement opportunities. We are not a school looking to pass as many students as possible but through small classes and hands on training from the best in the business we hope to graduate proficient capable freight brokers ready to start their own career. If you are serious about learning and starting a new career contact Dustin @ ate o 1 - 6 five 6 - for 7 one ate ; dustinc@crengland.com ; or take a look at our website www.freightbrokerageschool.com ; Best of luck out there, please don't hesitate to ask any questions no matter what it may regard. Beware of Freight Broker schools been in the industry for 13 years. I have yet to see any school that is worth while. You can find books to give you the whole jist and then seek an agent job. Most brokers will hire you with no experience, because they are not out any real money. All you need to get started is a phone, fax, email, and a cheap load posting subscription. Honestly, it is one of the most brainless jobs out there and the money can be excellent. I am an employee making over $100,000 if I go on my own with my current customers the figure would be around $225,000 per year. I am starting as an agent next month. Great career.

LOL, I love this thread. Look you are either making money or starving in this business. People if you want to be an agent you need to decide which one it is going to be. Now here is where I really inflame prior drivers. "You have to think like a broker" and quit thinking like a carrier to succeed in the industry this is why 80% of past carriers fail, they believe a carrier "Deserves" certain rates. This is a "Market Price" business. The shipper will pay what the market will hold. As a broker you work both ends against the middle so to speak and you represent everyones interest. You deserve to get paid for that service. Both parties need you and you can equally benefit financially from both. For instance. The commission off the load you got from the shipper and them offering items such as QuickPay to the carrier making an additional 5% off the gross, or dispatching for himn and making money off both ends of the load. Think outside the envelope. |

She then emailed me the next day wanting to borrow $200.00, after a week and getting her set up on truckstop to move freight she then emailed my accountant stating she wanted paid under the table. After that she said tear up my contract of which I gratefully did. Look the leads she will generate are nothing more than names and phone numbers, the customers I ran credit on are some of the worst customers I have seen. They had paydex scores of 20 or less.
