Hey there Everyone, I just wanted to pass along information that was stated recently by management. There has not been an official release of hiring, but word of mouth is just as good and very exciting! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the Delta Flight attedants on this forum! HERE IS THE LATEST UPDATE ON HIRING!
Hiring to begin January 2009! First training class to begin in March 2009. Around 500 New Hires of 2008 have quit/released from the company and we have to replace them, PLUS all the retirees will be gone by November 2008 and they have to be replaced as well. We are planning to only hire around 500-700 additional FAs for the 2009 Season! If interested in working for Delta Airlines, keep your eyes on www.deltajobs.net/ for current FA job openings. Good Luck Everyone! |

Thank you so much, honey for finally confirming that! Now that that information has come from two active F/A's maybe people can really trust it and finally get their hopes up! With you being in ATL, ask if the 'pool' has been cleared and determine whether everyone needs to completely start over. I know there are a lot of doubts and questions going around about whether or not people's apps are 'active' with People Scout or not. This would help a lot of people! Take care!!! Much love! And THANKS AGAIN for the GREAT NEWS!Now if I could just get that west coast base.......LOL Gringa |

Hi VIP,

VIPInflight in Atlanta, Georgia 2 months ago |
A lot of them quit/got fired because Delta was their first airline and didn't realize what the job required. I ran into one girl in a store the other day. I asked her what happened, she said she couldn't deal with the commute. I had a few friends that got fired from Delta as well. (note: it is difficult to get fired from Delta, so they had to do something really bad) Delta is a wonderful company to work for, but if you have no idea of what this job requires, then its a 50/50 chance that you will like it or not. We hired about 1200 for 2008. |

SJD & VIP,
I know for a fact that a class is starting in january for company tranfers and possibly some LOD speakers. my roomate in New York has a friend going into that class who is a company transfer. <personal attack removed: edited by host> |

Luv Nature, Like I said in my above post, there is NO OFFICIAL RELEASE about training classes and things could change. Take your NEGATIVITY to another forum. Its not lying, its passing info that was passed to us from reliable sources. Its called, don't shoot the messenger. If you don't work for Delta, then your opinion or observations don't matter because you have NO info. At least we are trying to keep everyone updated on what we HEAR. Keyword HEAR! I hope you don't apply for Delta. You do not belong! |

Thank you so much for the info, VIP. Some people just comb through this forum to find drama. I TRY to ignore their responses hoping they will get bored and go look elsewhere to stir things up. |

I know both of you from another site, and you go out of your way to be helpful, positive and informative. You both have gone so far as to respond to my pm's with great insight and information. It is to bad that you and SJD took so much abuse in previous posts, as you are only trying to help and keep our spirits up. Keep up the good work! |

Anyway, I guess I have to reapply and I hope to get my wings sometime soon. Again my friend, thanks for all your info and support. You are a great addition to the Delta team. Take care of yourself. My DOH was Jan. 29, 08. I just passed my 9 month mark. TIME HAS FLOWN BY! I guess when you love the company you work for, it feels that way! I was in the "D" class and for the month of Nov. half of my class is not on Adays. Unfortunately I'm still on it, being in the junior half of the class, but its feels good being VERY SENIOR on the Aday List. I get my Adays dropped faster now, and I usually get my first choice when I preference a trip. LOVE IT! Gringa you feeling the pleasures of Aday drops and preferences? Steve in Charleston, West Virginia: THANK YOU! Your post had me laughing out loud and almost rolling on the floor for real...lol You spoke nothing but the truth. Luv Nature: Like Steve said, it doesn't take any type of thought process to be a darn FA...and your 23 years of flying don't mean ANYTHING. Your just a lady/man that started WELL before I did and I would think you would show a little bit more class, maturity and set an EXAMPLE for me and the the rest of us! SHAME ON YOU! OBVIOUSLY YOU NEED TO GROW UP! To everyone else: Thanks for the support! I love helping others. I will do all I can to make sure you all have the info you need to become a Delta Flight Attendant. I love it here and SO WILL YOU! Delta will be hiring soon, and if I get the opportunity, maybe I will be the one that interviews you or be your trainer. Looking forward to a Delta Future with you all! |

VIP, I just could not help it but to say what I did. I fly with a lot of great senior mamas, the ones that I can not stand, are the ones with her personality and quiet honestly they are the hardest to work with. Sometimes they just need to be put in their spots and welcomed to reality. To everyone else, good luck in pursuing your career, it is a lot of fun. |

I have been reading this forum for a while, and I just don't understand the venom with which one of the posters is attacking another. I certainly hope that these two know each other personally, as I would hate to think that people could be this nasty to a faceless person whom they don't even know. I've always pictured Delta f/a's as classy, and I particulary picture us as becoming classier the older we get (in our 40's, etc.) and I'm just so disappointed to see this kind of talk. :( |

Good LATE morning everyone!! Even though it is foggy and rainy here in PDX, I am STOKED for Halloween. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Your positive comments have given me a nice calm spirit and I am very grateful! We recently had two deaths in and close to our family and I just took things a little too personal. Thanks for keeping things in perspective! Now I gotta get my cup of coffee and start blowing some leaves so that the little critters will have a clear path up to our house. I just LOVE all the costumes! My son is going to be either a pirate or a Karate Master. Then we have pizza and scary movies afterwards. Please DO keep your finger on the trigger of the DL web site. I put it on my favorites and would check it 3 times daily. Then one day it opened up and I was the third day of interviews. Unfortunately People Scout dropped the ball and slotted me in class E instead of A like the interviewers promised. So don't get discouraged if that happens to you. Just be proactive in calling them. I am BEYOND excited about working with you all. As we draw closer to that time, let's find a way for us all to get together as we will probably all be based in NY!! Much love and a spooky Halloween to you all! Gringa |

It is obviously only ONE foolish person posting the abusive nonsense. He/She seems to be tracking you down on each of the Delta forums on this site to harrass you - from what I've seen. He/she seems to have it in for you for some unknown reason. Please don't give it enough respect to even respond. Just ignore it. It's not worth it. I can't imagine anyone else on here is taking anything that person says seriously. The information you share, also VIP & DeltaFA, is VERY much appreciated by all. Don't let one bad apple chase you away, please. Hey, how about those Blazers tonight! |

Anonymous said: SEAN HANNITY, OF HANNITY & COLMES ~ FOX NEWS, IS GOING TO AIR A VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTARY ABOUT BARACK OBAMA, SUNDAY NIGHT AT 9:00 PM. HE STATED ON THE AIR THIS EVENING THAT NO ONE IN THE NEWS MEDIA WAS WILLING TO DO THIS. Posting political propoganda on every forum you can find - forums not political in nature; completely off topic - does not reflect well on you or for your candidate. These type of intrusions turn some people off. Just FYI. |

Friends, let's not be politically devisive on here. Regardless of whom our choices are (and both candidates, I'm sure, are represented by all of us), I, for one, would rather not know who my friends are supporting. It's hard enough maintaining cohesion without throwing our political differences into the mix. Let's just support each other in our efforts to get hired by Delta. |

JUST THIS WEEK WE GOT RID OF TOMATO JUICE, GINGER ALE AND APPLE JUICE. ALSO THEY AREN'T GIVING US CRACKERS ANYMORE! AND FEWER DRINKS........ SO ALL THAT SEEMS TO INDICATE THAT WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE $$$$$ WHO KNOWS... JUST DON'T WANT ANYONE TO GET HOPES UP |

Hello current, and potential flight attendants, I'm a former crew member with ATA. I want to inform everybody, of a great money saving deal for laying over in the New York area between trips, or just an opportunity to saved money for a few days when you visit New York. As a former flight attendant, I know first hand the cost of hotels in the major cities. The owner of this brand new hostel in Manhattan, would like to welcome as many crew member as he can, and eventually dedicate one floor exclusively to crew. This is a totally renovated building, with modern conviences. Prices for shared rooms start at 26$ plus tax a night. So if their is anyone out their that can help me spread the word, and have this information posted in Delta's crewrooms across the U.S., it would be great! I will be more that happy to send my contact information. |
