Does anyone know what the current competitive rate is for an experienced dental hygienist in Calgary with LA license?

ya I keep hearing no jobs but I have less than 1 year experience and I have three offers in Calgary....one offered me $60 an hour with no local or anything..so that's why I was asking what the rate is when I have more experience and LA.

Does anybody know if Calgary or Edmonton has any job openings for Dental Therapists certified in extractions, fillings, LA, cleanings, radiographs, and OH instructions?

I think you need to check with the regulatory authority in Alberta to see if you can practice the full scope of your training. I think you will be limited to the usual Dental Hygiene scope of practice unless you are working for the feds or tribe on a reserve.

I think Plakattaka is correct; you will be able to use your LA competency but will not be able to do extractions and restorative-actually, you can "fill" but not "drill" as long as you are registered with the college.
There are numerous restricted activities you are allowed to do in Alberta (ie. nitrous, LA, write prescriptions, restorative) provided you have the recognized training for it and you are on the appropriate roster at the college.
