Both are community colleges/public schools, have been around for a long time (they are two of the original 3 schools offering dental hygiene in BC) and are accredited. As far as I know, the diploma from both programs is accepted by UBC if you want to go on to the degree program. I went to VCC, and it was stressful but thorough - you'll definitely be prepared for the board exam, there's a very high pass rate, 99 or 100%. It's a very well respected school. I can't tell you much about CNC, but haven't heard anything bad about it at all. Both schools are competitive entry. The cost of living will be much lower if you go to CNC, so that's one thing to bear in mind. Being in a bigger city, VCC may be able to offer a greater variety of clinical rotations. That's all I can think of right now, hope it was helpful. |
