Congratulations Paul, my husband who is an Electrician went out to Houston on 31st May and flew out from Houston via Altanta to Dubai on Monday of this week and arrived Baghdad the early hours of Tuesday morning. He will be in Camp Liberty in Baghdad for approx 2 weeks for training and then he gets sent to whichever camp he is going to be at. Be prepared for very long days in Houston, he left Belfast at 111am on Sunday morning and arrived in Houston on Sunday evening at around 8pm (about 2am our time). He had to go to the processing centre for 7am on the Monday morning and wasn't back to the hotel until the Monday evening. You need to have all your documents for the processing on Monday morning, passport, drivers licence, copy of your electrical certificates etc etc. Have you received the pack from KBR yet, it's about 30 pages of things, make sure you read it as it gives you all the info you need for Houston and when you get to Iraq.

Hi Paul yes my husband spoke to his recruiter once i think, that was just to offer him the job but everything else was via email. Get your police disclosure done asap, if you haven't got that you'll be put back to the next processing date. My husband only got his on the Thursday and he was flying out on the Sunday, it only took his a week or so to come through but don't know if that is the norm or if it is different in Scotland. |

Think I’m getting messed around. have been onto them since Christmas. They told me to go uk and get JIB done that and cost me a heap with flight, acc and one training course. Qualified Electrical site supervisors, security, data comms, and a few other things. She told me she would contact me in a week, but that was nearly 3weeks ago. Don’t want to run any chance I have. Badly stuck for a job. Lost my electrical business. Cheers Buddy |

They are pretty strict with JIB cards, my friend has been an electrician all his life, but never applied for his JIB card, he applied for it and got turned down because he hasn`t got a NVQ3, so they gave him a trainee card, so KBR couldn`t employ him, he came so close. I`ve read alot of these forums, and it seems like they are traying to ramp up standards to 17th edition, hence why they are insisting on JIB cards. I hope everything goes well |

I was just wondering about how long does it actually take on average to get a call back after putting in your application. Also, should you put in an application for every job req or just one? |
